Windows Tips & Tricks
Problem Description:
Windows XP Explorer very slow to refresh file/folder list when clicking on a folder in the tree view. This problem may also manifest it self as slow application load times, or very slow response when right clicking a file and selecting Properties.
Tips To Resolve:
- From a DOS prompt run regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll to unreg compressed file scans.
- From a DOS prompt run regsvr32 /u cabview.dll to unreg CAB file scans.
- In services stop the WIA (Windows Image Aquisition) service.
- Remove the Owner column from Explorer.
